Do target drives have to be partitioned and formatted prior to copying?
Answer: Target drives do not have to be partitioned prior to copying. The unit will partition and perform a high level format on the target drives. When a drive is partitioned, a master boot record is created. This record tells DOS were each partition begins. When a drive is formatted, a DOS boot record is created and system files are transferred. This record contains disk drive information such as sector size, and number of cylinders. The DOS boot record also contains the root directory, and the FAT.
