Externally connect and mount today's common storage devices with Read and Write functionality.

Since some hard drives, when attached to the SDP, will not be recongnized when connected to native SATA ports on some PCs, ICS recommends the use of the eSATA controller card to ensure 100%compatibility with both the PC and the drive connected to the SDP. Besides improved drive detection the eSATA controller supports "hot swap". In addition, it is important to properly remove external drives connected to the SDP using the O/S "Safely Remove Hardware" function.

Used as portable unit or installed inside a PC's available Drive Bay, the Super DrivePort supports IDE drives (133MB/sec), SATA II drives (300MB/sec), SCSI drives (320MB/sec), and USB 2.0 storage devices (480 Mbit/sec). Uses an eSATA connection to interface with the PC. Can also be connected to a PC or Notebook with optional USB adapter or third party Notebook eSATA Express Card or eSATA CardBus Adapters.
